Task
The creation of the parking space concept for the Old Town redevelopment area is a measure from the Integrated Urban Development Concept (INSEK) 2025.
The overarching goal is to (re)organize stationary traffic to relieve and optimize the parking situation in the city centre of Kahla.
Work steps
The following steps will be implemented during the development of the parking space concept:
- Recording of the available parking spaces: Location and management of all parking spaces
- Recording of parking space demand: 4 survey days with 8 time steps each
- Determining the parking space balance: analysis and forecast
- Development of measures and recommendations for action including impact assessment
- Public relations and participation: Stakeholder workshop and presentation in committees
Results
As a result of the study, a geo-referenced database with all parking spaces in the study area is available.
In the further course of the project, various approaches and measures for a demand-oriented and efficient future parking supply are to be developed on the basis of the comprehensive parking space survey.
