Task
Traffic planning studies were required in connection with the creation of the framework plan for the Markt Sparneck town center redevelopment area. The focus of the traffic expert report was the development of a practicable variant for the future traffic organization in the area of the town center in order to enable a changed street design in the future, which places a stronger focus on pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
The framework plan for the town center of Markt Sparneck is being developed by UmbauStadt PartGmbB. The traffic report was prepared in cooperation with UmbauStadt.
Work steps
The following steps are implemented during the preparation of the report:
- Inventory of deficits in the design of the public street space
- Carrying out a license plate survey to determine source, destination and through traffic
- Development of a routable model of the transport network and implementation of the survey data
- Creation of traffic load plots for existing and modified traffic organizations (one-way street regulation)
- Development of a target network for bicycle traffic incl. Measure for implementation
- Proposals for future street designs in Sparneck, taking into account relevant guidelines and recommendations (FGSV
Results
The result is a proposal for a future traffic organization in the town center of Sparneck. Based on this, a target network for cycling was developed for the entire municipal area. Finally, proposals were drawn up for future road space allocations that would achieve a fairer distribution of space among all types of traffic.
