Task
Mobile and geocoded mobility data provide an excellent basis for evaluating existing traffic models. On the other hand, the traffic models have information that is not or not yet available in mobile data.
On behalf of Bauhaus.MobilityLab at the Bauhaus University Weimar, a consortium led by yverkehrsplanung GmbH is working on a study to investigate the issue.
Work steps
Mobile phone data from teralytics, which was to be linked to the zones of the Erfurt traffic model, formed an essential basis.
In addition, processed route data collected as part of the Bauhaus.MobilityLab at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar was also linked to the zones of the traffic model.
Another component of the study was the development of a traffic data platform by pwpsystems.
Results
As a result of the critical analysis of the large amount of data, possible applications were highlighted, but also the current (still) limitations of the application.
