Traffic study Magdeburg East Elbe districts

The following steps were implemented as part of the project:

• Updating the traffic model: Updating the traffic model with new data and technologies in order to accurately depict current and future traffic scenarios.
• Analysis of existing Elbe crossings: Investigation of the condition and performance of the current bridges and tunnels across the Elbe to identify areas for improvement.
• Analysis of all road users: Collection and evaluation of data on all road users such as cars, trucks, buses, bicycles and pedestrians in order to obtain a comprehensive picture of the traffic situation.
• Traffic surveys: Systematic collection of traffic data, such as traffic volumes and speeds, for the planning and evaluation of traffic infrastructure.
• SWOT analysis: Evaluation of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks of a project for sound decision-making and strategic planning.
• Variant development: Development and comparison of different planning alternatives in order to find the best solution for the transportation project.
• Definition of plan cases: Definition of various scenarios and assumptions for the planning of transportation projects to assess their impact.
• Impact assessment: Analysis of the effects of transport projects on the transport system, the environment and the quality of life in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the measures.
