has developed a project funded by the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology. The project is interdisciplinary in nature. It illustrates the connection between urban development and environmental impact.
Work steps
The following steps were implemented:
- Preparation of structural data, such as population distribution, jobs by type of business, etc.
- Development of a multimodal transport demand model that includes not only the city of Bruck an der Leitha but also the surrounding area,
- Implementation of supra-regional transport links from the Eastern Region Transport Model,
- Creation of scenarios for the future urban development of the city of Bruck an der Leitha,
- Consideration of behavioral changes in scenarios (e.g. home office share, e-car market share).
Results
Several scenarios were examined and compared with each other in terms of their traffic and environmental impact. The following parameters were determined.
- Traffic loads for all traffic types with time differentiation in individual hours,
- Parking space occupancy for individual traffic districts over the course of the day,
- traffic-related emissions.
