Task
In Heilbad Heiligenstadt, yverkehrsplanung GmbH prepared a traffic planning and traffic engineering assessment of the connection to the future Eichfeldklinikum on the basis of the detailed utilization concept.
Work steps
The project comprised the following steps:
- Implementation and evaluation of video-based junction flow surveys in the course of the L 1005,
- Comparison of the data with the Thuringia traffic model,
- Determination of trip generation and mode choice as well as the temporal distribution of the hospital’s traffic volume,
- Proof of performance of the connection to the public road network.
Results
The results of the investigation are as follows:
- traffic volume structure differentiated by time,
- Performance analyses of the junctions for the peak hours,
- Determination of parking space occupancy,
- Overall assessment of the project in terms of traffic planning and traffic engineering.
